OUR MISSION

The West Virginia Futbol Club will promote, sponsor, organize, and administer soccer programs – which shall include the highest levels of play, guidance, instruction and competition – emphasizing skill development, teamwork, and good sportsmanship for the committed soccer player. With diverse programs open to players ages 8 to 19, from the recreational to the elite level, we aspire to help young players build a love for the game.
Thank you for your interest in the West Virginia Futbol Club. We are a youth travel soccer club with boys and girls teams across several age groups whose mission is, quite simply making players better. This information sheet is designed to address them, but please feel free to contact the club officers if you have any additional requests.
BENEFITS
Quality Coaching
The WV Futbol Club provides knowledgeable and experienced coaches to its member teams. These coaches are licensed, recruited, selected, assigned, developed and supervised by our Directors of Coaching. Our coaching staff is by far the best in the state.
Supplemental Training and Development
The West Viirginia Futbol Club seeks to provide additional training and development opportunities to its members, both specialized and general. Among these are goalkeeper training, speed and agility training, and informational sessions on topics such as goal-setting and playing soccer in college
Competition Selection
The network of contacts with other soccer clubs throughout West Virginia and in surrounding states helps assist member teams who seek admission to prestigious leagues and tournaments or who desire friendly matches with other teams. In addition, WVFC hosts or assists with numerous competitive opportunities that provide a venue in which our member teams can be showcased.
Administrative Assistance
WVFC provides assistance to team managers in navigating the regulations and requirements associated with travel soccer, helping them to avoid pitfalls in the process. Through the club’s membership with the WV Soccer Association, teams and players enjoy medical insurance coverage in the event of injuries from team activities

WVFC Board Of Directors
The Board of Directors for WVFC (“BOD”) is a body of elected or appointed members of the Club who jointly oversee the activities of the organization. Each position within the BOD is elected annually by the membership for two year terms. To help promote stability and consistency, the Club has two Class’ of Directors whose terms are staggered every other year. Board seats consist of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, At-Large (2), and an elected representative from the Player Development Committee.
In general, the Club’s BOD is comprised of a fair representation of the membership. Effort is continually made to ensure that equal representation from the Academy (Boys/Girls) and Travel (Boys/Girls) is achieved as well has geographic considerations. The Club enjoys a wide footprint that spans the I64 corridor east of Charleston to west of Huntington. In addition, with a large pool of membership, the Club looks to draw on the personal and professional strengths of its members to serve in appropriate positions.
The BOD of WVFC meets in person no less often than on a monthly basis. All of the meetings are conducted in an open session and are available to any of its membership or invited guests to attend. It is common place for the BOD to conduct business through tele-conference or emails between meetings should immediate needs arise that may be time sensitive.

The Player Development Committee is a six-person committee made up of senior members of the club solely focused on making group decisions in the best interest of the players and WVFC. We understand that every team, player, and situation has unique characteristics that make most decisions a case-by-case basis. Through collaboration between coaches, the PDC and parents, WVFC is confident in its process for determining the direction of soccer-related issues and concerns. WVFC is also confident the six members of the PDC will make informed, abstract, and objective decisions. The PDC meet on a monthly basis to plan, prepare, and resolve any issues relating to players as well as plan for upcoming events and other situations that may arise. If you would like to bring something to the PDC’s attention do not hesitate to contact one the PDC via this email:
