Kim Smee
Academy Director

Kim played at the University of Charleston from 2010-2014, where she won multiple honors and helped UC earn their first Top 25 national ranking.
After her playing career, she worked as graduate assistant coach while pursuing her MBA.
She now serves as the Academy Director for WVFC. She also has her USSF D License.
Mark Conley
PDC Director
2005/06 Boys Head Coach
Mark has over 25 years of coaching experience in West Virginia, having coached with multiple clubs and as Director of Coaching for the WV Olympic Development Program (ODP). He currently serves as the Director of the Player Development Committee for WVFC.
Prior to coaching, he played soccer at Maryville University in Saint Louis, MO. He also has his USSF D License.
Gary Oglivie
WV United U-19 Girls Academy Head Coach
2005/06 Girls Head Coach
Gary just completed his first season as the head coach for the women’s soccer program at the University of Charleston, leading them to their first MEC title and a #5 national ranking. He joined the women’s program after spending three seasons as an assistant for the men’s program.
Prior to coaching at UC, he spent a year at Snow College after wrapping up short stints of both playing and coaching in New Zealand and England.
Dennis Ahewba

Dennis was born in Uganda but moved to the United States to attend Marshall University, where he played for their men’s team from 1999-2002.
Dan Gribben
WV United USL 2 Head Coach
2005/66 Boys Assistant Coach
Dan recently completed his first year as an assistant coach for the men’s soccer program at the University of Charleston, where they finished as regular season and tournament MEC champions.
Dan played three years at the University of Houston Victoria, Texas. There, he won two Red River Conference Tournaments and featured in two NAIA national championships.
Fayenga Keita

Fayenga played at Marshall University from 2008-2011.
As a coach, his teams have been extremely successful and have competed well at both regional and national levels. In 2021, Fayenga was named the US Youth Soccer East Region Competitive Coach of the Year. He also has his USSF D License.
Vaughn Griffiths
2008 Boys Head Coach
Vaughn was born in Jamaica and moved to the United States to attend the University of Charleston, where he played from 2015-2017 and made one final four appearance.
He has coached at various recreational and club levels and recently served as an assistant for the women’s program at UC while completing his doctoral degree. He also has his USSF D License.

Chris Gribben

Chris recently completed his second season as an assistant coach for the men’s soccer program at the University of Charleston.
Prior to coaching, he also played for UC and was part of a team that won 2 National Championships and 2 Regional Championships among other honors.
Kristin Brown

Kristin grew up playing completive soccer and ODP in Georgia before playing for The Ohio State University.
Kristin has her USSF D License. In addition to coaching with WVFC, she also coaches the 2012/13 girls with the WV Olympic Development Program (ODP).

Todd played at Marshall University from 2007-2010.
He has six years of coaching experience and has earned his USSF D License. He is also currently working on his USSF C License. In addition to coaching with WVFC, he also coaches the 2012/13 boys with the WV Olympic Development Program (ODP).
